  • Weekly Minecraft Coding Club: Don’t just let your children play Minecraft; get them coding with it! In this live online weekly class, the students will be taught to code using Minecraft, in a block-based programming language (Microsoft MakeCode). In this 1 hour weekly class, students will be taught to code using Minecraft. Every week, there will be a new exciting, action-packed project with builds and mobs of all sorts! Each week, we work on a new topic from start to finish so new joiners will not be at a disadvantage.  Age Requirement: 7+  Who is the course for? The course is aimed at children who are at least years of age.  What we will cover:
    • Learn block-based Microsoft MakeCode coding similar to Scratch
    • Use loops and conditionals (IF/THEN/ELSE)
    • Understand variables (number, Boolean, string)
    • Create and use functions
    • Use all of the above to make games and build structures
This class runs like an after-school club. There is a class once a week every week at the same time. Minecraft coding sessions last an hour. Class Agenda:
    • Welcome and Introductions
    • Overview of the topic
    • Coding in Minecraft
    • Creative time decorating
    • Testing and playing
    •  Publishing and sharing
    • Wrap up
Teaching Methodology: Our approach is project-based. We strongly believe that engaged, happy students are the best learners. Our projects have an end goal, and most are game-based. We use coding to solve a problem. We have up to 5 students in this class, allowing the class to be interactive with lots of opportunities to ask questions and share knowledge.

A mobile phone isn’t ideal for Zoom as the screen is too small. JOINING THE CLASS  Your child will need to be in a quiet space away from any background noise. We can’t always see your child’s screen so they may need some adult supervision from time to time to make sure they are getting the most out of their lesson.
